MAX for Sales, the first product in the MomentusMAX suite of native AI products, is an application for venue sales teams. This article explains three things:
- How admins and sales managers set the venue revenue goal and a target for each representative.
- How representatives check which dates are open or busy on the calendar heat map.
- How an Admin assigns the roles that control what each user can see and do.
Set the venue goal first, because representative targets depend on it. For the fields on each settings screen, see Settings and Configuration.

Performance goals
A performance goal is the amount of revenue your venue plans to earn in one fiscal year. A fiscal year is your venue's 12-month business year. You enter the goal for the whole year, for each quarter, and for each month. MAX for Sales uses the goal as the base for quota and goal tracking.
When to use it
Set the venue goal first. Representative targets come from this goal, so you cannot set them until the goal exists. Come back to the goal when your plan changes. Select Re-forecast instead of editing the original numbers.
Set a goal
- Open Settings → General and set the fiscal year start month. Until you set it, the Goals screen shows "Fiscal year not configured yet".
- Open Settings → Revenue Goals → Goals.
- Select a tab. This Year shows your current fiscal year. Future Years lets you plan ahead. Prior Years shows earlier years.
- Enter your goal for the year, then select Set baseline to save it. Re-forecast appears only after the first goal exists.
- Review the split by quarter and by month. Change any quarter or month to fit your busy and quiet seasons.
- Check that the quarters and months add up to the annual goal. To split the goal equally, select Distribute evenly. If a total does not match, select Fix.
- Select Re-forecast when your plan changes. MAX for Sales saves a new version and keeps the old one.
For every field and button on this screen, see Settings and Configuration.
⚠️ Known issue: You can set and view goals by event type only in the side panel on the Goals screen. No other part of MAX for Sales uses them. Set your overall goal first.
Individual targets
A target is the revenue amount you expect one representative to bring in. Each representative has a target for the year, for each quarter, and for each month. Representatives and their managers use the target to see how a representative is doing against quota.
When to use it
Set targets after you set the venue goal. Come back when you hire a representative, when a representative leaves, or when you move the goal across the team. Only admins and sales managers can open this screen.
Set targets
- Open Settings → Revenue Goals → Individual Targets.
- Select the fiscal year in the sidebar. The sidebar lists only years that have a venue goal.
- Read the card at the top. Total is the venue goal. Assigned is the sum of all representative targets. Pending shows how much you have left to assign. Over shows how much you assigned beyond the goal.
- Select Assign Target. The target cells open for editing.
- Type a target in each cell. To save time, select Distribute evenly to split the goal across all representatives, or Copy from last year to bring last year's targets forward.
- Select Save Changes. Select Cancel to leave without saving.
You can assign more or less than the venue total. MAX for Sales does not stop you.
📌 Note: When you save a new target, MAX for Sales replaces the old figure. It keeps no version history, unlike the venue goal.
⚠️ Known issue: The representative list shows every user in your organization, not only sales representatives. Check the names before you select Distribute evenly. If other users are in the list, each representative gets a smaller share.
📌 Note: Representatives see their own progress on Today's Focus, in the Performance widget: pipeline against quota, revenue won against the quarter target, and conversion rate.
The calendar heat map
On the Today's Focus page, the Calendar Preview section shows which dates in the next 90 days are open and which are filling up. You do not need to open the full calendar to check.
When to use it
Open the heat map when a client asks about a date. Check which dates are open or busy before you plan a space.
Open the heat map
- Open Today's Focus from the left navigation.
- Scroll to Calendar Preview.
- In the first dropdown, select All availability, Holds, Bookings or Maintenance.
- In the second dropdown, select 30-day view, 60-day view or 90-day view. To move to another month, use the month field.
- Select a day. A window shows how many spaces are available, on hold, booked and in maintenance on that date.
- Select View calendar → to open the full Calendar.
The color bands:
| Color | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Low | 20% or less booked |
| Mid | 21–60% booked |
| High | 61–100% booked |
📌 Note: A day with no data at all (no availability information recorded) shows with no color. This means no data, not "fully available." Do not read a blank day as open.
A day that falls on an organization-wide venue closure shows in a separate blackout color, overriding the booking-level color entirely. Today's date gets its own highlight so you can find the current day.
Current state of roles/permissions
MAX for Sales uses three roles: Sales Rep, Sales Manager, and Admin, assigned per user by an Admin. These are roles native to MAX for Sales, not inherited from your Enterprise or Elite role setup, since role names and structures vary by venue.
📌 Note: The first Admin is not manually assigned. MAX for Sales automatically assigns Admin to whoever holds system admin access in Enterprise or Elite when the venue is first set up. There always has to be at least one Admin, and the system blocks removing or demoting the last one.
📌 Note: A user without a role does not see MAX for Sales in their navigation. An Admin has to add them and assign a role before they can open it.
Pipeline visibility is venue-wide for everyone. All three roles see every opportunity, not just their own. What is kept private is quota and target data, visible only to the representative themselves and their manager, never peers.
Where to manage roles: Settings → Users & Access (Admin-only). Add users, assign, update, or remove a role here. A role change saves immediately and takes effect the next time the user logs in.
Where to check your own access: every user can see their own role and what it permits under Settings → Profile by selecting the "View permissions" link.
Add a user
- Open Settings → Users & Access. Only admins can open this screen.
- Select + Add Users.
- In Users, type at least 2 characters of the name, email address or account code. Select the user from the list. To add more users, repeat this step.
- In Role, select Sales Rep, Sales Manager or Admin. The role applies to every user you selected.
- Select the button at the bottom of the form. It shows how many users you selected.
Change a user's role
- Open Settings → Users & Access.
- Search for the user by name, email address or account code. To see everyone with one role, select a role in the All roles filter.
- In the Role column, select the dropdown for the user. Then select the new role.
Selecting a new role saves immediately. The change takes effect the next time the user logs in.
