Performance is the built-in analytics in MAX for Sales, the first product in the MomentusMAX suite of native AI products, an application designed for venue sales teams. It gives you two ready-made dashboards that need no setup, populated from your own pipeline.
Use Performance to compare reps, event types and trends across your pipeline. The dashboards refresh once a day and show estimated revenue. For the current state of one deal, or an exact figure for finance, use the pipeline and the opportunity itself.
This article covers what is on each dashboard, how the numbers are calculated, and how current they are.
Overview
| Section | What it covers |
|---|---|
| Performance | The built-in analytics: Rep View, Manager View, and every widget on each |
| Refresh cadence | How current the numbers are, and what that means day to day |
Performance
Performance is the analytics built into MAX for Sales. Open it from the main navigation. Enterprise and Elite customers see the same Performance tab. There is nothing to configure, and the dashboards populate from your own pipeline as soon as you have opportunities in the system.
Rep View and Manager View
Performance has two dashboards. Use the toggle at the top of the page to switch between them:
| Dashboard | What it is for |
|---|---|
| Rep View | Your own pipeline, performance and next actions |
| Manager View | The whole team: pipeline by rep, coaching signals, and where deals are getting stuck |
📌 Note: What you see depends on your role. Sales Reps get Rep View only, with no toggle. Sales Managers and Admins see both and can switch between them.
📌 Note: Performance does not show progress against a target. Targets appear on the Performance card on Today's Focus. To set goals and targets, see Goals and Individual Targets in Settings & Configuration.
Filters
Rep View has an Event Type filter at the top of the page. Manager View has a Monthly / Yearly toggle, a Rep filter and an Event Type filter at the top. In Rep View, the Monthly / Yearly toggle sits inside Health Metrics.
Monthly shows the period buttons on each widget, such as This Month or QTD. Yearly switches the widgets it affects to a year view and hides those buttons. Filters do not change every widget:
| View | Event Type changes | Rep changes |
|---|---|---|
| Rep View | New Opportunities, Conversion Rate by Stage and Average Touchpoints by Stage only | Rep View has no Rep filter |
| Manager View | Every widget | The whole Rep Performance block, plus Pipeline Conversion Ratio & Age by Team and Rep and Events Starting in Next 30 Days |
⚠️ Known issue: The Event Type filter does not list every event type.
Individual widgets have their own time range controls on top of that. Most offer some combination of last 7, 30 or 90 days, this month, this quarter and this year.
📌 Note: QTD, YTD and This Quarter follow your fiscal year, not the calendar year. To set the fiscal year start month, see Settings & Configuration.
📌 Note: "Team" means everyone at your venue. You cannot group by team, region or reporting line, so a large venue cannot view one group's numbers on their own.
📌 Note: Rep View titles show the currency code from your Currency setting in Settings → General, for example Total Pipeline Revenue (EUR). If you change the setting, the code updates at the next daily refresh. A venue that has never saved a currency shows USD. Changing the currency does not convert any amounts. It only changes the label. Manager View shows no currency code. Both views shorten numbers, such as 1.2M, and show no currency symbol.
Rep View widgets
Rep View is organized into five blocks, in this order.
Health Metrics: three cards across the top:
| Widget | What it shows |
|---|---|
| Total Pipeline Revenue (your currency code) and Total Pipeline Opportunities | The value of your open pipeline and how many opportunities make it up, each with a comparison against the prior month. Switches between This Month, Last Month and Next Month. |
| Average Deal Size (your currency code) and Team Average Deal Size (your currency code) | Your average opportunity value alongside the team's, so you can see where you sit. Switches between This Month, Last Month, QTD and YTD. |
| Lead Response Time In Hrs | How many hours you take on average to respond to a new inquiry, against the prior month. |
📌 Note: Average Deal Size counts only the opportunities assigned to you. Team Average Deal Size counts the whole venue.
⚠️ Known issue: If you have no assigned opportunities, Average Deal Size shows (null) in its title and the card is empty.
New Opportunities: a line chart of opportunities coming in over Last 7 Days, Last 30 Days, Last 90 Days or Last 12 Months, with a Group by Event Type switch.
Stage analysis: three charts side by side:
| Widget | What it shows |
|---|---|
| Conversion Rate by Stage | The share of opportunities converting at each stage, over the last 30, 90 or 180 days. |
| Average Touchpoints by Stage | The average number of outbound emails per opportunity while it was in each stage. Calls and meetings do not count in this chart. |
| Pipeline Age by Stage | The average number of days since each open opportunity entered its current stage. The Won bar shows the days since the deal was won. |
⚠️ Known issue: Average Touchpoints by Stage shows small values with an "m", meaning thousandths. For example, 360m means 0.36 emails per opportunity.
Active Holds Overview:
| Widget | What it shows |
|---|---|
| Active Hold Value Estimate (your currency code) and Active Hold Count | What your live holds are worth and how many you have. |
| Hold to Won Conversion % | How often your holds turn into won business, over the last 30 or 90 days or QTD. |
| Aging Hold List | Every hold past the aging threshold you have picked (>2 weeks or >4 weeks), with event name, company, estimated value, days in hold and event date. |
Team Performance Leaderboard: the top three on the team by activity, over This Week, This Month, This Quarter or This Year.
Manager View widgets
Manager View is split into two blocks.
Rep Performance: everything measured per rep:
| Widget | What it shows |
|---|---|
| Total Pipeline by Rep | Open pipeline by rep, as both opportunity count and pipeline value. MTD, QTD or YTD. |
| New Deals Added by Rep | New opportunities per rep by count and value, over the last 7 or 30 days, this month or this quarter. |
| Total Activity by Rep | Activity volume per rep, broken into meetings, calls and emails. This week, month or quarter. |
| Time to First Contact by Rep | How quickly each rep responds to a new inquiry, shown in real durations: minutes, hours or days. Over Last 7 Days, Last 30 Days, This Month or This Quarter. |
| Sales Cycle Length & Close Rate by Rep | Two charts side by side: how long each rep takes to close, and how often they win. Over Last 7 Days, Last 30 Days, This Month or This Quarter. |
| Hold Performance by Rep | Holds per rep and how they are converting, filtered by age (>2 weeks or >4 weeks) and by Last 30 Days, Last 90 Days or This Quarter. |
| Pipeline Velocity by Stage (by Rep) | The average number of days each rep's deals spent in Qualified, Date Held, Proposal and Pending Contract, for stage changes in the selected period. A deal still in a stage counts up to today. Toggles between All Opportunities and Won/Lost Only. |
General Performance: the venue as a whole:
| Widget | What it shows |
|---|---|
| Repeat vs. New vs. Same Customer/Different Event | The split between brand-new customers and returning ones booking something different. |
| Performance by Event Type | Revenue and conversion rate side by side for each event type. |
| Average Touchpoints to Close Won Deals | How much engagement a win takes, trended over time. Plots the mean, the median and the number of won deals together. Over Last 90 Days, Last 6 Months or This Year. |
| Average Days to Book Out | How far ahead your venue books business: the days between a deal's first Won status and the event start date, as a mean and a median. |
| Pipeline Conversion Ratio & Age by Team and Rep | A color-coded table of conversion rate and pipeline age per rep, with the team's overall figures underneath. Overall View or Stage Detail View, over 30, 90 or 180 days. Stage Detail View adds conversion rate and age columns for each stage. |
| Revenue Growth Rate | Revenue trend, monthly, quarterly or yearly. |
| Events Starting in Next 30 Days | Revenue and event count for events starting in the next 30 days. |
📌 Note: Events Starting in Next 30 Days is based on when events start, not when deals are expected to close. It answers "what is happening at the venue next month", not "which deals close next month". A deal that closes in two weeks for an event next year does not appear.
⚠️ Known issue: Hold Performance by Rep can show an empty grid even when reps have holds past the selected age. If the grid is empty, check the holds on the opportunities instead.
📌 Note: Average Days to Book Out can go below zero when someone marks a deal Won after its event started. For example, a rep updated the status late, or the event date has the wrong year. One such deal can pull the mean below zero, so the median line is more reliable.
📌 Note: Repeat vs. New vs. Same Customer/Different Event identifies returning customers by company name. A customer whose name is entered inconsistently across inquiries ("Acme Corp" on one, "Acme Corporation" on another) may be counted as new.
Activity and touchpoints
Several widgets measure "activity" or "touchpoints". Total Activity by Rep breaks its bars into Meetings Count, Calls Count and Emails Count, and the legend shows all three.
MAX for Sales counts emails automatically: every outbound email on the opportunity, including emails your reps send from their own Outlook instead of from inside MAX for Sales. Emails from a rep's own Outlook count only if the mailbox is connected through Email Connector. See Settings & Configuration.
MAX for Sales counts calls only when a rep records them. When a rep uses Record Voice Note on an opportunity, MAX for Sales transcribes the call, adds a summary to the timeline and counts the call toward their activity.
📌 Note: MAX for Sales does not capture calls from your phone system. These widgets do not show a call that a rep did not record. They also do not show calls made while Voice & Recording is turned off for your organization in Settings → General. If call numbers look low, check whether reps are recording their calls.
⚠️ Known issue: MAX for Sales does not count meetings, so a rep who spent the week in client meetings looks less active than they were. This affects Total Activity by Rep, Average Touchpoints to Close Won Deals, Average Touchpoints by Stage and the Team Performance Leaderboard.
For example, a rep spends a week on one opportunity: four emails, two Teams meetings and one recorded call. Their activity for that week counts 5: four emails and the call. The two meetings do not count.
⚠️ Known issue: The Team Performance Leaderboard ranks only a fixed set of reps. Someone who joined recently may not appear on it at all, even if they would rank in the top three. If a rep says they are missing from the leaderboard, they are probably right.
Estimated Revenue
Every revenue figure on these dashboards is an estimate. There is no single field a rep types a revenue number into. MAX for Sales works it out from the best evidence the opportunity has, and the estimate improves as the deal progresses.
MAX for Sales uses the first available source in this order:
| Priority | Source |
|---|---|
| 1 | A sent proposal |
| 2 | Current holds |
| 3 | Comparable past events |
| 4 | The inquiry's budget range |
So an early inquiry with nothing but a budget range is estimated from that range. Once holds go on, the estimate comes from the holds instead. Once a proposal goes out, the proposal replaces both.
📌 Note: This means a revenue figure can change without anyone editing anything. Send a proposal and that opportunity's contribution to every revenue widget updates at the next refresh, because a better source became available. That is the estimate improving, not a number going wrong.
💡 Tip: Use revenue widgets to see direction, not exact amounts. They are reliable for comparing reps, event types and trends, where every opportunity is estimated the same way. For an exact figure to hand to finance, use the confirmed values on the opportunities themselves. A pipeline weighted toward early inquiries is estimated from budget ranges, so it is less exact than one where most deals have proposals out.
Affected widgets: Total Pipeline Revenue, Average Deal Size, Team Average Deal Size, Active Hold Value Estimate, Total Pipeline by Rep, New Deals Added by Rep, Repeat vs. New vs. Same Customer/Different Event, Revenue Growth Rate, Performance by Event Type, Events Starting in Next 30 Days and Hold Performance by Rep.
Customize the dashboards
📌 Note: The dashboards are fixed. You can filter them, but you cannot add or remove widgets, rearrange the layout, or save your own versions.
Dashboard load errors
While the page loads, it shows Loading performance. If a widget fails to load, it shows Failed to load performance widget. with a Retry button. Select Retry first. The most common cause is a dropped connection, not a problem with your data.
Refresh cadence
Dashboard data refreshes once a day.
The dashboards read from a copy of your data that updates once a day, not from MAX for Sales directly. This lets them total a whole venue's pipeline quickly, but it also means they are not live.
In practice:
- An opportunity created this morning does not appear on a dashboard until the next refresh.
- A deal won this afternoon still shows as open on today's dashboards.
- Editing an opportunity does not change any dashboard figure until the next refresh.
💡 Tip: Some things need to be up to the minute, such as a deal that just closed or a hold placed an hour ago. For these, use the pipeline and the opportunity itself, not the dashboards. Performance is for trends and comparisons, not for checking the state of one live deal.
📌 Note: A dashboard that stays open in a browser tab for a long time keeps you signed in, so you do not need to reload the page. But it does not pull in new data between refreshes. A tab that has been open a long time still shows the figures it started with.
