Compliant Surcharging in Momentus Payments
Momentus Payments now supports compliant surcharging, which passes payment processing fees through to the payer while respecting jurisdiction-specific rules, such as preventing fees from being applied to debit card transactions. The credit card surcharge fee displays immediately when a payer selects credit card as their payment method along with a notice indicating that fees may apply. Once the card number is entered or if the card number is changed the fee is recalculated to make sure compliance surcharge fee is correct. This ensures fee transparency at the point of payment selection, keeping organizations in compliance with payment regulations that require disclosure before card details are entered.
Enterprise users must be on version 26.1.2026052502 or higher for Compliant Surcharging to work correctly.
